JAMES M. TOLER

James Melvin Toler, 66, of 103 Kayla Marie Lane, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services will be held to-night at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Fu-neral Home in Goldsboro with visitation afterward. Pastor Steve Singleton and the Rev. Henry Jinnette will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Toler was born in Wayne County on July 12, 1941 to the late Ramson and Leona McFatter Toler. He was the owner operator driver for PFT Trucking and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Toler attended Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Toler; two daughters, Betty Jean Nixon and her husband, Keith, of Kenly, Angela Canady and her husband, Shane, of Goldsboro; three brothers, George Ramson Toler of Belfast, Billy Ray Toler and his wife, Joyce, of Princeton, Junior Toler and his wife, Shirley, of Goldsboro; three sisters, Norma Williford, Barbara Murphy and her husband, Craig, Rosa Lee Jinnette and her husband, Jimmy, all of Goldsboro; and six grandchildren, Allison and Austin Nixon, Amber La Vasser, Shana, Sabrina and Nathan Canady.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Toler was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl McFatter and Nancy Cruse.
