JAMES 'RICKY' HUNTER

Died April 14, 2008

VISTA, Calif. -- James Ricky Hunter, 53, passed away on Monday at San Diego Veterans Hospital. He was formerly of Goldsboro, N.C. Mr. Hunter was born in Wayne County to the late James M. Hunter and Christine D. Hunter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Roxanne "Mincey" Hunter. Ricky was a member of St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Goldsboro, N.C. While living in San Diego and Vista, Calif., he attended North Coast Church of Christ.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. from McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries with the Bishop D.L. McIntyre officiating.

Ricky attended Wayne County Schools and graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1973. He furthered his education by attending Fayetteville State University and earned a degree in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Calif. He later entered the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He was honorably discharged in 1991 and will receive full military honors.

Ricky leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving and dedicated mother, Christine D. Hunter of Goldsboro, N.C.; brothers, Rex Hunter of Goldsboro, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hunter of Chicago, Ill, Brooks Hunter and Jeff Hunter of Goldsboro, N.C., Gary Hunter of La Mesa, Calif.; sisters, Angela Winship of Goldsboro, N.C., Judy Hunter of Hinesville, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. George Mayes of Jacksonville, Fla., Monique Hunter of Winston-Salem, N.C.

The family will meet one hour prior to the service at 3200 Cashwell Drive, Apt. 1D, Goldsboro, N.C.
