MOUNT OLIVE -- Hilda Gray Price Best, 74, of 251 Daughtry Field Road, died Monday evening at her residence. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Cullen Blackmon Price and Mary Gray Herring Price and wife of the late Joseph Nelson "Juice" Best. She was a member of the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive with the Rev. Steven A. Wicks officiating.
Mrs. Best is survived by a son, Eddie Best of Mount Olive; two daughters, Brenda Schroeder and husband, Ralph of Mount Olive, Mary Ellen Adams and friend, Keith Poston, of Mount Olive; a brother, C.B. Price Jr. of Kure Beach, N.C.; three sisters, Mildred McCullen and Betty Anderson, both of Mount Olive, Peggy Todd of Fayetteville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Heather Schroeder, Patrick Schroeder and wife, Shanda, Bobby Schroeder, Ashley Adams, Daniel Adams.
Family members will greet friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
