KATHY C. HEAD SCOTT

FREMONT -- Kathy Head Scott passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2008. She was born the daughter of Jim and Valeria Hart Head of Greene County. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Head of Snow Hill.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, David Lee Scott; her constant companion pet poodle, Palmer Joy, of the home; her mother and stepfather, Valeria and H.B. Smith of Snow Hill; one very special brother, Larry V. Head and his wife, Sarah, of Hookerton; one very special sister, Loretta Head Cox and her husband, Buck, of Snow Hill; several special nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; one stepbrother, Ben Smith and his wife, Dori; and two stepsisters, Enette Thomas and her husband, Glen, and Sonya Walker.

Kathy is also survived by her special friends of Snow Hill, Fremont and former co-workers of BB&T in Wilson where she was a former employee for 10 years before retiring in 1992 due to her declining health.

Kathy was a former member of Harrell's Chapel Church in Snow Hill and a present member of Fremont Missionary Baptist Church in Fremont where she served both churches as a choir member and past Sunday school teacher.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont with visitation afterwards. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends other times at the residence, 129 Evans Farm Road in Fremont.
