PIKEVILLE -- Jessie Lee Mothershead, 83, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 13, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the Minshew-Coley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Barry Stallings will officiate. Graveside will be Monday, April 14, 2008, at
11 a.m. in the Kenly Ceme-tery.
Mrs. Mothershead was born in Wilson County on Aug. 19, 1924, to the late David F. and Atsy Durham Peele. A devoted member at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She wrote beautiful poetry.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Mothershead; son, Stephen Mason; brothers, Nelmer Peele and David Peele; sister, Eloise Fields; half-sister, Eula Watson; and a half-brother, L.D. Peele.
Surviving are her stepson, Royce Mothershead; devoted cousin, Kathleen Radford of Pikeville; 10 nieces and nephews; honorary grandmother to Lawrence and Landon Pipkin.
Thanks to her special care givers and special thanks to Dr. Douglas Fullington and staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends following the evening service.
