JERRY LEE JONES

Jerry Lee Jones, 57, died Tuesday at his home.

Jerry was born in Wayne County to the late Marvin Jones and Kathleen Kennedy Jones. He had worked as an electrician with Dewey Brothers. Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Goldsboro High School and served his country in Germany with the U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman and loved pulling for his favorite basketball team, North Carolina State University.

Private graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. The Rev. Harvey Parrish will officiate.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Patience J. Buchholz and her husband, Jeremy, of Omaha, Neb.; three granddaughters; his sisters, Judy Tew and husband, Charlie, of Goldsboro, Joyce Lane of Goldsboro; and his dear friends, Richard Engle and wife, Cindy, of Goldsboro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Jones and Johnny Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
