Benjamin Ronald Davenport, 73, died Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Ben was born in Wayne County on Dec. 27, 1934 to the late Stephen Marlton Davenport and Alwilda Caudell Davenport.
Graveside services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Rackley officiating.
Ben is survived by his sister, Sallie D. Coor and husband, Kenneth, of Goldsboro; his brother, Stephen Donald Davenport and wife, Clara, of New Bern; a special cousin, Ella Alphin of Kinston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marlton and Willie Davenport.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home of his sister, Sallie Coor, 2504 Bradford Place, Goldsboro.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
