Shane Wall, 50, of Rosewood passed away Thursday evening at home after a long-term illness.
A memorial service will be held today at 5:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Goldsboro, with visitation afterward.
Shane was born in Wayne County on February 12, 1958. He was a long-time member of the Moose Family Center, where he was a Legion Aire. Shane was an active member of the APA until his health declined. He was also an active candidate for the National Foundation for Transplants and United Network for Organ Sharing. Prior to his illness, he was employed by the Wayne County School System.
Shane is survived by his wife, Karen Wall, of the home; his son, Daniel Wall of Greenville; his parents, Kermit and Jane Wall of Kenly; two brothers, Johnny Wall of Goldsboro and Leslie Wall of Kenly; and two sisters, Sandra Hines of Goldsboro and Sheila Strickland of Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Moose Family Center of Goldsboro, National Found-ation for Transplants or United Network for Organ Sharing.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the funeral home today and other times at the home, 605 Forest Knolls Road in Goldsboro.
