LaGRANGE -- Wayne Killette, 80, of 4019 Willie Measley Road, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Wayne was born in Wayne County on June 29, 1927, to the late Gilbert Killette and Hepsie Parks Killette. He was a retired farmer and a life-long musician and entertainer. Wayne was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church quartet and was active in the church men's club.

The funeral will be Saturday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with the Revs. James Williams, McGee Creech and Sherman Guthrie officiating. Interment will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Wade Killette; his daughters, Deborah Rouse and husband, Wayne, and Joy Hill and husband, Doug, all of LaGrange; his sons, Jeff Killette and fiancée, Donna Hardy, and Wade Killette and wife, Lisa, all of LaGrange; nine grandchildren, Meredith Karcher and husband, Kyle, Jaime Wiggins and husband, Scott, Jordan Rouse, Lindsay Killette, Mindy Rouse and husband, Jamie, Garrett Hill, Kayla Hill, Joshua Killette and Madison Killette; and four great-grandchildren, Mason Wiggins, Tucker Wiggins, Jackson Karcher and Fisher Wiggins. He is also survived by his brothers, James "Earlon" Killette and wife, Daisy, Robie Killette and wife, Sybil, Ray Killette and wife, Brenda, and Morris "Tom" Killette and wife, Kathy; his sister, Elizabeth Phipps; and his sister-in-law, Addie Killette.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Reece Killette and his sister, Mary Rachel Smith.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at Rouse Funeral Home and other times at his home.
