Elva Brown Bottomlee, 77, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Harrel and Effie Wolfe Brown, and the wife of the late James Leonard Bottomlee. An avid gardener, she was retired from General Electric.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Hollingsworth of Goldsboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Wilton Harold and Cathy Hollingsworth of Goldsboro; her special grandson and his wife, Danny A. and Stephanie Williams of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters-in-law; many special friends including Jimmy and Janet Kearney, Steve and Robin Roberts; two additional grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Family members will greet friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home of Steve and Robin Roberts, 118 Willowbrook Drive, Pikeville.
