CHARLES RAY BOSWELL

Died March 13, 2008

Charles Ray Boswell, a native of Goldsboro, passed away Thursday at Britthaven of Goldsboro. He was the son of the late Morris and Alverta Bass Boswell. Charles attended East End Elementary School until age 8, when the family moved to Baltimore, Md., where he continued his education and graduated high school in 1942. He was inducted into the military the same year and served his country in the United States and Europe. At the completion of his military service he married his beloved Mary, who precedes him in death. They had one son, Michael.

Charles moved his family to New York where he started a clothing and dry cleaning business and remained there until 1999 when he and Mary returned to Goldsboro.

He is survived by his son, Michael Boswell of Goldsboro; one uncle, Marshell Bass of Winston-Salem; three cousins, Levi Hamilton Jr. and wife, Grace, LaMont Hamilton of Wilson, George Bradley Atkinson of Morehead City.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 24, 2008, 1 p.m. at Stevens Chapel Church Cemetery, 208 Stevens Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27533.
