Sy Steele, 91, died Friday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr. Steele was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Rubin Shapiro and Ida Peaceman. He was married to the late Cheryl Steele. Mr. Steele had worked as a psychiatric assistant for the University of California Los Angeles. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
No formal services will be held.
Mr. Steele is survived by his daughter, Laura Steele of Los Angeles, Calif.; his sons, Michael Steele of Sedona, Ariz., Eric Steele of Goldsboro; and his grandson, Tyndall Steele.
