STANTONSBURG -- William Millard Jr., 71, of 3118 N.C. 222 East, fondly known by his friends as "Boo," went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday at Wayne Me-morial Hos-pital, Goldsboro, N.C. Mr. Millard served his country in the U.S. Army Medics Corps.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 1 p.m. from the First Baptist Church, 108 Baker St., Eureka, N.C., with the Rev. Odell Forte officiating. Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008, at the Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 2 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral in the Sherrod Family Cemetery in the Watery Branch Commu-nity, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Lettie Pecolia, of the home; six children, Vicki Millard-Cobb of Waldorf, Md., William "Clint" Millard of Baltimore, Md., Monica McClendon of Schweinfurt, Germany, Kevin Millard of Washington, D.C., Salanda Newsome and Sandra Newsome, both of Eureka, N.C.; three sisters, Carrie Frances -Cox and Effie Dees, both of Goldsboro, N.C., Lila McHenry of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Jackie Millard of Eureka, N.C., Maryland Ransome of Goldsboro, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving friends and other family members at 3118 N.C. 222 East, Stantonsburg, N.C.
