FAISON -- Lonnie Allen "Blossom" Brock, 72, of 209 S. Church St., died Monday at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, at Carr Memorial Christian Church with the Rev. Penny Ziemer officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Brock, born in Duplin County, was the son of the late Harvey Brock and Sadie Brown Brock. He was a retired truck driver, having formerly owned L & E Trucking Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. A sister, Marie Brock; and four brothers, Billie, Durwood, Lynwood and Elwood Brock, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Gilmore Brock of the home; a daughter, Elva Lynn Jones; a grandson, Jonathan Cherry; a stepdaughter, Veach Rogers and husband, Jamie; five brothers, Marsden Brock of Seven Springs, Rommie Brock and wife, Shelby, of Goldsboro, David Brock and wife, Betty, of Calypso, Cecil Brock and wife, Patty, of Mount Olive, Bennie Brock of Faison; two sisters, Mavis Swinson of Mount Olive, Sara Southerland and husband, Kent, of Mount Olive.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton, N.C.
