EARL FRANKLIN TUCKER

PIKEVILLE -- Earl Franklin Tucker, 71, of 5438 Fort Run Road, died this morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Earl was born in Wayne County to the late Joe Jesse Tucker and Trudy Mae Jernigan Tucker. He was a retired welder at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and had also worked with Seaboard Railroad in Portsmouth, Va. Earl was a Mason.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Steve Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pikeville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Pierce Tucker; his daughter, Sandra Saunders and husband, Chris, of Pikeville; his sons, Danny Earl Tucker and Billy Joe Tucker of Pikeville; his sisters, Jenny Evans of Goldsboro, Judy Harper of Grantham, Eloise Benton of Pikeville, Liza Aycock of Chesapeake, Va., Sherby Hines of Goldsboro; his brother, Joe Jesse Tucker Jr. of Grantham; and his grandchildren, Michael Creech of Goldsboro, Samantha Beaty and husband, Wayne, of Fremont, Zachary B. Ward Jr. of Pikeville, David Allen Saunders of Pikeville.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
