Elizabeth Gardner Lancaster Mobley, 93, formerly of the Patetown community, died Monday afternoon at Britthaven Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Mobley was born in Wayne County to the late Albert H. Gardner and Sarah Eliza Vinson Gardner. She was married to the late Dewey O. Lancaster, the late John C. Brown and the late Cleveland A. Mobley. Mrs. Mobley was a homemaker and dedicated her life in caring for her family. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. David Jackson and Bill Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Mobley is survived by her daughters, Carolyn L. Pate of Goldsboro, Mary Sasser and husband, Joe, of Pikeville, Patsy L. Bass and husband, Hugh, of Goldsboro, Rose L. Webber and husband, Sidney, of Goldsboro, Linda Hinkson and husband, James, of Goldsboro; her sons, Oliver Lancaster and wife, Bonnie, of Greenville, Donnie H. Lancaster of Goldsboro; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, John Alan Evans and Michael Mar Lancaster; her son-in-law, John T. Evans; six brothers; and one sister.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 300 Country Day Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at the home of Rose and Sidney Webber, 408 Wood Peck Road, Goldsboro.
