MARY S. OUTLAW

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mary Summerlin Outlaw, 73, of 361 Beautancus Road, died early Saturday at Wayne Hospital.

She was a member of Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church and was employed in the Mount Olive College cafeteria. Past employment included farming, Young Squire Industries, and Guilford East.

Preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. "Speck" Outlaw; a daughter, Mary Ann Outlaw; and a brother, Hubert Lee Summerlin. Mrs. Outlaw is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty O. and Mickey Stewart, and two granddaughters, Taylor Stewart and Savannah Stewart, all of Clayton; four sisters, Christine S. Espin of Rock Hill, S.C., Mavis Outlaw of Warsaw, Joyce Jones and Lois Jones, both of Garner; a brother, Leslie Milton Summerlin of Washington state; and a devoted friend, Edna Price of Kenansville.

A funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Revs. Mickey Whitfield and Bryce Rouse officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerlin Cemetery at Summerlin's Crossroads. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 until 9 p.m. and at other times at her residence.
