KAREN G. BURNS

Sept. 12, 1946-Feb. 28, 2008

Karen Goddard Burns, 61, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 28.

Karen was born in West Virginia on Sept. 12, 1946, to the late Thomas Goddard and Irene Jones Goddard. She was a clerk with Britthaven Nursing Home in Goldsboro. Karen will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who never met a stranger. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and was a powerful witness for His kingdom. Her wisdom, guidance, and love will be treasured by the many souls that she touched, and her laughter will be heard in our hearts until we see her again.

A celebration of her life will be held by the graveside on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Epps officiating.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Kathy Moore and husband, Allen, of Goldsboro; her sons, Chris Burns and wife, Sherri, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Ray Burns and wife, Lisa, of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Desiree Burns, Natasha Burns, Shawn Burns and Mandi Burns; and her brother, Thomas Goddard, Jr. and wife, Mary, of West Virginia.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Allen Moore, 120 Perry Drive, Goldsboro.
