HAZEL S. CREECH

SMITHFIELD -- Hazel Stephenson Creech, 79, of Vermont Street, died Monday. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late James and Beatrice Langdon Stephenson. Her husband was the late Howard H. Creech. Hazel was a retired public school teacher and was an active member of the Alpha Beta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She was a member of the Smithfield First Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Christian Church in Smithfield with burial following in the Creech Family Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Tim Creech and wife, Cindy, of Dudley; brothers, Fred Stephenson and wife, Catherine, of Virginia, Don Stephenson and wife, Francine, of Clay-ton; sister, LaRue Whitley and husband, Mike, of Dunn; grandchildren, Mandy Daniels and husband, Leslie, Beth Daughtry and husband, Will; great-grandchildren, Dylan Daniels and Landon Daughtry; and special friends, Janice White and Nancy Daughtry.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home, Selma, Wednesday night from 7 to 9 p.m.
