ATHA GAINEY HANGER

Atha Gainey Hanger, 76, died today at Kitty Askins. She was the daughter of the late Milton and Martha Gainey, and the widow of the late Milton M. Hanger.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Kevin Lowery officiating.

Mrs. Hanger is survived by her son, Lewis Allen Wilkerson of Goldsboro; three daughters, Wendy Smith of Goldsboro, Atha I. Hanger of Goldsboro, Tina Massey of Belfast; a brother, James Lewis Gainey of Maryland; three sisters, Mary Ann Coble of Chapel Hill, Grace Cruse of LaGrange, Janet Chase of Kenly; 10 grandchildren, Kimberley, Brittani, Heather, Tiffany, Tracy, Aaron, Brandon, Paul, David, Michelle, Lisa and Philip; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by one grandchild, Jamie.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of Aaron Howell, 708 Pittman St., Goldsboro.
