GORDON LOCKEY

MOREHEAD CITY -- Gordon Lockey, 93, died Wednesday at Carteret General Hospital. Mr. Lockey was a deacon at Newport River Primitive Baptist Church. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Newport River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Devon Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Amariah Garner Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Eva Lockey; three daughters, Ann Lockey Coker of Raleigh, Jeanette Lockey Peck of Willow Spring, Martha Lockey Lawrence and husband, Jimmy, of Gloucester; son, Kent Gordon Lockey and wife, Debbie, of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Clay Wynne of Straits; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
