LOVIE P. SULLIVAN

Lovie Padgett Sullivan went to be with her Lord on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Lovie was born in Pender County to the late James Ivey Padgett and Garrow Kelly Padgett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lee Sullivan. Lovie was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a former member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where she played the piano for 35 years.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield, the Rev. Bill Rose and the Rev. Vance Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lovie is survived by her sons, Roy H. Hassell Jr. and wife, Helen, of Goldsboro, J. Hardy Sullivan and wife, Linda, of Goldsboro; her daughter, Carole Hassell Wheless and husband, Earl, of Asheville; her grandchildren, Kelly, Kristy, Earl Jr., Hardy Jr. and Jennifer Hope; 11 great-grandchildren, Nicholas Sullivan, Erin, Gracie and Alx Glass, Lyndsay Frenchko, Krysten Ridenour, Justin Logan, Toni Burrell, Carli Wheless, Lexi Wheless, Earl Wheless III; two great-great-granddaughters, Saige Burrell and Mackenzie Frenchko; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chester Wayne Sullivan; and her brothers, Walter Padgett and Graham Padgett.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church Music Department, 1100 The First Church Road, Golds-boro, N.C. 27534 or to WAGES-Meals on Wheels, 601 E. Royall Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Hardy and Linda Sullivan, 1205 Park Ave. B, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
