EVANGELIST MILDRED B. WOODARD

Evangelist Mildred Barnes Woodard, 84, lovingly known by her family and church friends as "Evangelist Woodard" passed on Friday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Mildred was born in Sampson County to the late Rosell Barnes and Annie Best Barnes, and was married to the late William Henry Woodard Sr. She was a devoted member of Darden Chapel O.F.W.B. Church.

She is survived by her five daughters and sons-in-law and four sons and daughters-in-law, Annie and Carlton, William and Inez Jr., Carolyn and James, Marvin and Judy, Melvin and Claudia, Lydia and Ronnie, Sandra and Carlton, Judith and Kenneth, and Adolph and Toni, 26 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and one greatgreatgrandchild. She is also survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, H.B. and Bessie Barnes, and Charles Barnes of Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by son, Donald Woodard.

Her home-going celebration service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at noon at Bear Creek Association Headquarters Building, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, with the Rev. James Leftwridge as the officiating minister. The family will receive friends and other family members on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, and again on Tuesday, a viewing will be conducted from 11 a.m. to noon at Bear Creek Association Headquarters. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park, US 117 Hwy., Dudley.
