Died Jan. 29, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lawlos "Lois" Edmundson Bland, of 4450 New Broad Street, Orlando, Fla., died on Tuesday. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Edmundson Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Bland was preceded in death by her husband, Col. George T. Bland, USAF Retired; her daughter, Betsy Bland; her parents, Burrell and Bessie Edmundson; her sisters and brothers-in-law, LaDell and Charlie Shackelford, Mollie and Fred Kirby; and her brothers and sister-in-law, Jim and Elma Edmundson and B.J. Edmundson.

Mrs. Bland graduated from Pikeville High School and the Women's College of North Carolina in Greensboro. She was a member of Aloma United Methodist Church in Winter Park, Fla.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tom Bland Jr. and Nancy Bland; three grandchildren, George Bland IV, Elizabeth Bland, Mackenzie Bland; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Bland and Tristen Bland of Orlando, Fla.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Joanne Edmundson, Roscoe and Clara Edmundson of Pikeville; three sisters, Bertha Davis of Fremont, Ruth Hokum of Swansboro, Atha Tunnell of Edenton; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
