CECIL R. McSWAIN

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Cecil Reuben McSwain, 74, of 420 Camp Jubilee Road, died early Friday morning.

Born in Nash County, he was the son of the late Jesse R. and Delia Morgan McSwain. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having attained the rank of sergeant, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Masonic Lodge Hiram 40 A.F. & A.M. of Raleigh. He was a former resident of the Raleigh area and was a poultry farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jay, Oliver, Randolph, Allen and James McSwain; and by sisters, Pauline Morris, Edith McSwain, and Ruth Alford.

He is survived by his wife, Robbie Barber McSwain of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Robin McSwain; and grandsons, Patrick Russell McSwain and Christopher Ryan McSwain, all of Mount Olive.

The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Steven Wicks officiating, after which the family will receive friends. Committal and burial will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
