MABEL B. COKER

Mabel G. Broadhurst Coker, 92, went to be with her Lord Sunday morning, Jan. 6, 2008, at Britthaven of Goldsboro.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at 1241 Saulston Road.

She was born in Duplin County on May 21, 1915, to the late John David Grice and Gertrude Powell Grice. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Olive before becoming a member of Stoney Creek F.W.B. Church. She was very active in all church activities where the church was her love.

She is survived by two loving daughters, Johnnie Musgrave, and her husband, Zeb, of Goldsboro, Anne Vitale and her husband, Vincent, of California; five grandchildren, Donna M. Gordin and husband, Harvey, Sonia Jordan, Susan Musgrave, Vincent Vitale III and wife, Tiffany, Michael Vitale and wife, Kacy; and four great-grandchildren, Kristina and Amy Jordan, Gabriell and Anthony Vitale.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Broadhurst, the father of her daughters, and the late Rev. Herman Coker; one brother; and six sisters.
