NANCY RAWLS WARREN

Nancy Rawls Warren, 77, went to be with her Lord on Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Nancy was born in Guilford County to the late Guy Woolard Rawls and Alber Anderson Rawls. She was a graduate of Peace College and had attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Nancy was presented at the 1949 Debutant Ball in Raleigh. She married Robert Creech Warren on Dec. 20, 1949.

Nancy was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Scottie Perry Circle. She was active in her community and had served as the Wayne County Director of the American Cancer Society. Nancy had worked as a life insurance agent for Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company and had served as a special investments coordinator with First American Savings Bank.

A service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Homer Morris officiating. A private burial for the family will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery prior to her memorial service.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Creech Warren; her son, Robert C. Warren Jr. and wife, Janie, of Fredericksburg, Va.; her daughter, Nancy Warren Gillespie and husband, Daniel J. Gillespie, of Jamestown; her brother, Guy W. Rawls Jr. and wife, Virginia, of Apex; and six grandchildren, Noah Warren, Nathan Warren, Katelyn Warren, Emily Warren, Molly Gillespie and Danny Gilles-pie. She is also survived by four nephews and one niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Guy Rawls Warren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends Friday at their home, 606 Handley Acres Drive, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday following the service in the church parlor of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
