FAYETTEVILLE -- Ryan Langston Stevens, 18, of 7094 Beagle Run, passed away on Sunday. He was born in Wayne County, N.C.

He was a 2007 graduate of Pine Forest High School, where he was voted most likely to skip class. He loved golf and was on the golf team when he was at Pine Forest High School. Ryan desired a career in sports medicine and was to begin at FTCC in January of 2008. Ryan enjoyed many things in life such as fishing, hunting and just spending time with his friends; his brother, Drew, and sister, Lindsey, the best brother and sister in the world. He loved very much spending time with his grandparents. He also loved weightlifting and watching his brother, Drew, wrestle. He loved fast cars and one of this favorite pastimes was just sleeping in late. He loved his sweet tea, Grandma's bacon and eggs, his 99 cent spicy chicken sandwiches from Hardee's and 99 cent McDonalds' double cheeseburgers. The 99-cent value menu was the only menu he looked at.

He was a nice guy all around and loved everyone. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson and a true friend to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald L. Stevens; and an uncle, Robert Stevens.

He is survived by his mother, Sherry Baker Odom and his stepfather, James "Jimmy" Odom, of the home; his father, Donald Langston Stevens Jr. and his stepmother, Karen Stevens of Goldsboro; one very special brother, Drew Stevens; and one sister, Lindsey Odom, both of the home; and three stepsisters, Christina Odom and Elizabeth Blackwelder, both of Asheboro, and Lauren Gill of Goldsboro; his maternal grandparents, Jesse "Dick" and Christine Baker of South Boston, Va.; his paternal grandmother, Joyce Talley of Goldsboro; his step-paternal grandmother, Marie Melton of Fayetteville; and his maternal uncle, Kelvin Baker; and paternal uncle, Wayne Stevens. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Jennifer Wilkins of Fayetteville; and a very special family friend, Linda Fields of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday evening.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. He will be laid to rest in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

The family acknowledges acceptance of flowers or memorials to the Pine Forest High School Wrestling Team, 525 Andrews Road, Fayetteville, N.C.
