Johnnie Allen Jernigan Sr., 69, of 119 Susan Circle, died Tuesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Othar Leon Jernigan and Hazel Britt Jernigan.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Casey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lewis Baker officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday morning at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bridgers Jernigan; son and daughter-in-law, Allen Jernigan Jr. and wife, Kelly, of Goldsboro; daughter and son-in-law, Deana Grant and husband, Todd, of Central, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Otto Jones of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jackson Grant, Mary Chase Grant, Harrison Grant, Cameron Jernigan; nephews, James and Doug Jones, Mike and Tony Bridgers; great-nephew, Michael Jones; and a special family friend, Nick Becton.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 p.m. and immediately following the funeral service.
