JUDITH BROCK KRIEGER

Judith Brock Krieger, 88, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center after a brief illness. Born in Duplin County on March 31, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Jarvis L. and Estelle I. Brock. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Krieger was preceded in death by her husband, H. J. "Bud" Krieger, and her sister, Berlene D. Brock. Mrs. Krieger retired from the Wayne County Department of Social Services after 32 years of service.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will greet friends immediately following the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Krieger is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joan K. and Jerry G. Best of Goldsboro; one sister, Alma B. Phelps of Newport; three grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law, Jodie B. and Wib Owen of Garner, John G. and Heather Best of Goldsboro, Jennifer L. Best of Sarasota, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Jack Owen, Avery and Worth Best; and nieces Betty P. McConnell of Benbrook, Texas, and Lynn P. Mann of Newport.
