CLYDE E. STEINERT

CALYPSO -- Clyde E. Steinert, 84, died Sunday morning at home.

Services will be tonight at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Currie officiating. Visitation will follow the service, and at other times, the family will be at the Karen and Mick Marcin residence at 135 Dry Pond Meadow Lane, Mount Olive.

A second service will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Par-Troy Funeral Home in Parsippany, N.J., with the Rev. David Howwick officiating. Visitation will be there from 10 a.m. until service time. The burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Fairfield, N.J.

Mr. Steinert was a native of Fairfield, was the son of the late Albert and Ethel Dougherty Steinert, and husband of the late Inez Nicholson Steinert. He was the retired owner/operator of Steinert Evacuating Company and was a long-time volunteer fireman with Parsippany Fire Dept.

A member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church near Mount Olive, in recent years he had been attending Calypso Presbyterian Church with his family.

He is survived by a stepdaughter, Karen Marcin and husband, Mick, of Calypso; a stepson, Richard Gerber and wife, Patricia, of Calypso, with whom he made his home; four grandchildren, Michael Marcin and wife, Mendy, Kristin Marcin, Jessica Gerber and Jarrod Gerber, and two great-grandchildren, Michael Marcin and Emilee Marcin, all of Calypso; a sister-in-law, Ruth Steinert of Parsippany; and two brothers-in-law, Melvin Berry of Pennsylvania and Elbert Bicley VanDyne of New Jersey; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Samuel Gerber Jr.
