STERLING CITY, Texas -- Earl Raynor Jr., born in Wilmington July 3, 1954, went to be with the Lord Dec. 20, 2007. He was raised in the Dudley and Goldsboro area. He met his wife Sherri in Dec. of 1971 and they were married Jan. 26, 1973. They moved to Sterling City, Texas in 1976, where they raised two wonderful children and four grandchildren, of whom he was very proud and loved dearly.

Earl was employed by Canyon Pipeline, which became Range Resources for 29 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Raynor Sr.; a brother, Glenn Raynor; mother-in-law, Lucy Mauk; and father-in-law, Leon Phillips.

He is survived by his mother, Hilda Raynor; wife, Sherri Raynor; son, Earl Raynor; daughter and son-in-law Marlys and Mike Martinez; grandsons Holden Petty and Tavenn Raynor; granddaughters Chloe and Ariana Martinez; sisters, Debbie Raynor and Gail Lynch; brothers, Thomas Raynor and Mike Raynor; in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great friends.

Earl fought a long hard battle right to the end. He never once thought of giving up. He will truly be missed, never forgotten and always loved.

Services will be 10 a.m. Dec. 27 at Ross Funeral Home in Sterling City, Texas. In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations to American Cancer Society and Home Hospice.
