EFFIE M. WALLS

Died Dec. 13, 2007

PRINCETON -- Effie Mae Walls, of 55 Crescent Drive, was born to the late Eugene and Roberta Howell Best of Wayne County, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday. "Candi" as she was affectionately called joined Cedar Grove Church in Princeton, N.C., as a young adult. She really loved the Lord and is now no longer suffering, but is in his loving arms. She was married to the late Lonnie Walls and to the union she was blessed with nine children. One son, Robert Walls, preceded her in death.

The homegoing celebration will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ with Elder Ronald Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m., with a walk-in with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Lonnie Walls and wife, Paulina, of Avondale, Ariz., James Earl Walls of Princeton, N.C., Retired Sgt. Major Larry Walls Sr., and wife, Olivia, of Goldsboro, N.C., Rudolph Walls of Dudley, N.C.; four daughers, Ruth Atkinson of Washington, D.C., Julia Hayward and husband, Milton, of New Carrollton, Md., Rosa Waters and husband, DeMonso, of Oaks, Pa.; Patricia Gurley of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Willie L. Best and wife, Gladys, of Raleigh, N.C., Luby Best and wife, Mary, of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Julia Jackson and Elnora Hodges, both of Portsmouth, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C.
