MOUNT OLIVE -- James Henry "Junior" Fields, 52, of 678 S. Jordans Chapel Road, died Saturday.

He was a lover, husband and best friend to his wife. He spent his life trying to make his wife and daughter's dreams and wishes come true. He loved everyone he came in contact with. He was a member of the Jordans Chapel Fire Department for more than 22 years and a recent "Fireman of the Year." He fought a courageous battle with cancer and at his time of death was surrounded by family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Manley's Grove P.H. Church with the Rev. Chris Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Eureka Christian Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Kay S. Fields; daughter and friend, Jessica Renee Fields and William Bryan; a very special companion, Cookie; sisters, Ruth Denning of Newton Grove, Lillie Harrell of Mount Olive and Shirley Stedman of Stedman; brothers, Henry Fields of Goldsboro, Joe Dan Fields of Nashville, Dean Ray Fields of Newton Grove and Lonnie Fields of Mount Olive.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Jordans Chapel Fire Department or a charity of one's choice.
