MARY E. LINDSAY

FREMONT -- Mary Ellen Lindsay, 81, of 171 Pinkney Church Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Fremont. Dr. Richard Glosson and Franklin Lane will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Riverside-Magnolia Cemetery in Norfolk, Va.

Mrs. Lindsay was born in Norfolk, Va., on Oct. 10, 1926, to the late Lonnie and Helen Spry. She was a member of Union Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Fremont where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Clark Lindsay; one daughter, Ruth Ann Sistrunk and her husband, Michael, of Richmond, Texas; one sister, Eleanor Spry of Fremont; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Franklin Lane of Pikeville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lindsay was preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas Goodrich; her son, Gary Allen Goodrich; four brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Eleanor Spry Trust Fund, c/o BB&T, 126 E. Main St., P.O. Box 8, Fremont, N.C. 27830.
