GLADYS M. ALDRIDGE

WALLACE -- Gladys Mobley Aldridge, 94, died Tuesday at Goldencare.

Gladys was born in Onslow County, N.C., daughter of the late Cyrus E. and Esther Stephens Mobley. Her husband, Captain Sam Aldridge Sr. preceded her in death.

Mrs. Aldridge was raised in Wilmington and graduated from New Hanover High School in 1933. She always worked along side her husband, Captain Sam.

She is survived by two children; son, Sam Aldridge Jr. and fiancé, Annette Dunn, of Kenansville, N.C.; daughter, Peggy Aldridge Pittman of Wilmington, N.C.; four grandchildren, Margo P. Talton and husband, Jim, Robin P. Mohr and husband, Jim, Sam J. Aldridge and Shane Aldridge; four great-grandchildren, Heather, Nicole and Lauren Talton and Carly Mohr; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington, N.C.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Goldencare and the staff of Duplin Hospice for the loving care and concern shown to their mother throughout the years.
