THURMAN 'T.J.' JONES

KENLY -- Thurman E. Jones passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday. He was born in Wayne County to Sherman and Clara Hall Jones, who preceded him in death. Also, preceding Thurman in death were a daughter, Carlotta Richardson; a brother, Edroy Jones; and sister, Patsy Coley.

Service for Mr. Jones will be held at noon Wednesday at the L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street Ext., with Bishop J.N. Perry Jr. presiding and Elder David Hill delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, N.C.

Loving memories of Thurman are cherished by his wife of 60 years, Ada G. Jones; two sons, James Jones and wife, Shirley, of Wilson, N.C. and Reggie Jones of Elm City, N.C.; three daughters, Margie Gooding of Kinston, N.C., Lena Diane Burrell and husband, Eugene, of Washington, D.C., and Wilma Jean Jones and husband, Robert, of Kenly, N.C.; son-in-law, William Richardson; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Lewis of Fremont, N.C.; two brothers, Aaron Jones of Wilson, N.C., Freddie Jones and wife, Grace, of Goldsboro, N.C.; a special god-daughter, Jenny Herring of Albertson; along with a host of other special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will be present to receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until noon at the church. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
