JEAN B. STAFFORD

Jean Herring Stafford, 66, of 284 Smith Farm Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday at home.

A memorial service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation following the service. The Rev. Alan Hamm will officiate.

Mrs. Stafford was born in Wayne County on Jan. 6, 1941, to the late Jesse Herring and Hazel Pelt Herring. She was a member of Goldsboro Friends Meeting and was a supervisor with Woodard's Care Retirement Home.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Stafford Jr.; four sons, Mike Stafford of LaGrange, Joseph Stafford and his wife, Darlene, of Goldsboro, Tommy Stafford of Brunswick, Ga., and Dennis Stafford and his wife, Angie, of Goldsboro; three daughters, Deborah Smith and her husband, Jimmy Smith, of Goldsboro, Jessica Locklear and her husband, Jason, of Kinston, and Pamela Baker and her husband, Douglas, of Goldsboro; a brother, Danny Herring of Goldsboro; a maternal aunt, Myrtle Anderson of Goldsboro and a paternal aunt, Margaret Robinson of Beaufort, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Advantage Hospice, 2309 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
