NORMAN E. FEURER

Norman Eugene Feurer, 74, died Thursday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
A native of Marissa, Ill., Norman served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from his work at the commissary on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Norman was a member of the Goldsboro Masonic Lodge No. 634 A.F. and A.M.
For those who knew him, Norman will be remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate man and loyal friend to so many. The love in Norman's life was God, family and friends. Norman's determination to let it be God's will was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be missed by many. Norman's passion was golf and he was a member of the Three Eagles Golf Course at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. If it was a beautiful day, he enjoyed being on the links sharing shots and laughter with his friends. Norman loved the simple things of life, so he was known for this saying, "All I need is a kind word."
A service to celebrate his life will be 7 p.m. Monday at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he faithfully attended, with the Revs. Jimmy Whitfield and Bill Rose officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Norman is survived by his faithful wife, Eva Louise Wiggens Feurer; his daughter, Gail Feurer of Goldsboro; his son, Norman K. "Kirk" Feurer of Goldsboro; he is also survived by his loving granddaughter, Sarah Louise Feurer of Goldsboro, who was his pride and joy. She occupied a large part of his heart and will forever love him. Norman is also survived by his many friends at Three Eagles Golf Course and his special friend, Hank Harris, his golfing buddy and best friend.
He is also survived by his special cousins, Johnny and Sue Maranto of Hot Springs, Ariz., Richard and Lady Hamlin of Greenville, Miss., Norman and Joyce Maranto of Rollingfork, Miss., Mike and Ann Maranto of Anguilla, Miss., Willie and Nancy Maranto of Anguilla, Miss., Martha and Keith Dempsey of Orofino, Idaho, Lottie and Donald Durst of Anguilla, Miss., and Mary and Will Dixon of Memphis, Tenn..; his sister-in-law, Gail Fuerer of Arkansas; and his sisters-in-law, Gretchel Moore of Goldsboro, Faye Whitfield of Dudley, Gail Rogers and husband, Lebert of Dunn, Charity Cannavo and husband, Clay of West Bend, WI; brother-in-law, Johnny Wiggins and wife, Faye of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie D. Feurer; his father, Matthew Feurer; and his brother, Robert Dean Fuerer.

The family will greet friends following the service Monday at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at his home, 400 Connie Circle, Goldsboro.
