AUDREY SCOTT-SMITH

BATH -- Audrey Scott-Smith, 73, of Bath, N.C., beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday surrounded by her family.
Audrey was born in Manchester, England, to John and Trudie Scott.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, James B. Smith, of the home.
She is also survived by three loving children, Carol-Anne Phypers of England, John Bagnell and wife, Pam, of England, and Liz Jones and husband Roy, of Goldsboro; and two stepchildren, Kathryn Allen of Missouri and James B. Smith II of Florida.
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Kayleigh Phypers, Daniel Jones, Scott and Luke Bagnell; and six step-grandchildren.
Audrey worked as a realtor/broker in Goldsboro and Bath before retirement. She was an active member of the Bath community. She was a Town commissioner for six years, during which time she designed an official Town seal for Bath which was adopted. She was the first female member of the Bath Lion's Club and a member of the Bath Garden Club. She was also a member of the Bath Tri-Centennial Celebration Committee.
Audrey's primary love in life was her family. She also loved to travel and was an avid gardener. She will be remembered for being such an optimistic, positive person with tremendous determination and love for life.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Bath.
