HARRY L. BRITT JR.

RALEIGH -- Harry Lee Britt Jr., formerly of Goldsboro, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007. He was the eldest son of Harry Lee Britt Sr. and the late Mazzie Dickerson Britt who owned Britt's Florist. Harry Jr. was a 1968 graduate of Central High School in Goldsboro and a 1973 graduate from A & T State University in Greensboro.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, starting at 1 p.m. at Young Missionary Temple CME Church, 2901 Sanderford Road, Raleigh. A memorial viewing, a wake, will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the funeral. In 1968, at the end of his high school year, Harry Jr. was honored by the Wayne County Board of Education for never missing a day from school for 12 years. He was featured in the Goldsboro News-Argus for this accomplishment. He was a talented saxophone, piano and organ player.

The memories of Harry Jr. will be cherished by his wife, Velma Evans Bryant Britt of the home; father, Harry Britt Sr. of Wilson; two daughters, Stacia Martina Britt Yelverton and husband, Jason, Tiffany Lane and husband, Rico Sr., all of Raleigh; one son, Vernon Bryant and wife, Tonya, of Raleigh; three sisters, Christi Britt of Greenville, Delores Britt of Wilson, Nina Britt-Thomas and husband, Roosevelt, of Raleigh; two brothers, Bill Britt and wife, Margaret, of Wilson, Jimmy Britt and wife, Aletha, of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren; three aunts, Cora Lee Harper and Gertude Britt Hudson, both of Goldsboro, Elizabeth Britt of Newark, N.J..

The funeral services will be handled by C.E. Willie Funeral Home at 919-542-1092.
