RALPH S. CASEY

Ralph Steele Casey, 81, of 4699 Indian Springs Road, formerly of 5436 N.C. 55 E. in Seven Springs, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late William Cullen and Emma Frances Anderson Casey. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William "Brother" Casey; a sister, Nettie Mae Eason; his grandson, Randy Casey, and two sons-in-law, Ricky Thompson and Bobby Ferrell. Ralph was the owner and operator of Ralph Casey's Grocery and Auto Parts and Garage in Seven Springs for 45 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs.
Mr. Casey is survived by his wife, Lena Bruce Lanier Casey; two daughters, Teresa Diane Casey Thompson and Violet Ann Casey Ferrell, both of Seven Springs; a son, Randall Ralph Casey of Seven Springs; one brother, Marshall R. Casey of Smithfield; one sister, Jean White of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Randy A. Thompson, Nita D. Thompson, Robert L. Ferrell Jr., Ralph B. Ferrell, Ronald S. Casey, all of Seven Springs; and 12 great-grandchildren, Abigail Thompson, Macey Thompson, Ricki Lane, Stephanie Ferrell, Summer Ferrell, Alexis Ferrell, Bailey Ferrell, Bryant Ferrell, Christopher Casey, Brandon Casey, Ryan Casey and Randy Casey all of Seven Springs; a special niece, Eva Casey, and a special family, David, Vikki, Brooke and Alli Patton.
Family members will greet friends Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his daughter, Teresa Thompson, 4709 Indian Springs Road, Seven Springs.
The family requests memorial gifts to be directed to the Seven Springs Volunteer Fire Department in memory of Ralph Casey and Ricky Thompson.
