PRINCETON -- Patricia Dunn Worley, 61, died Tuesday at her home. Born in Johnston County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Murphy and Donnie Mae Allen Dunn. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Jack D. Worley.

Mrs. Worley was a member of Princeton Baptist Church where she once served as the church clerk. She taught school for 33 years in Cumberland and Johnston County. Mrs. Worley was an active member of the N.C. Educators Association, the National Educators Association, the Johnston County Educators Association and the American Business Women's Association. She served in several positions for the auxiliary of the Auctioneers Auxiliary of North Carolina, and was a Hall of Fame member. Mrs. Worley was appointed by the governor to serve two terms as a public member of the N.C. Auctioneer Licensing Board and was secretary-treasurer of the auctioneers' association of North Carolina. She was also active in the Eastern Star and the Democratic Women.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Dwayne Batten officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton

Surviving are her daughter, Shannon Lawhon and husband, Troy, of Princeton; three sisters, Laura Faye Massengill of Raleigh, Sharon Byrd of Raleigh and Beverly Bush and husband, Bob, of Raleigh; two step-grandchildren, Erica Lawhon and Will Lawhon; and three nephews, Cole Bush, Travis Byrd and Jamie Massengill.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
