Charles Brantham Brown, 78, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was born in Johnston County to the late John and Lulu Brown.
Six children survive.
Graveside services will be held privately at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro is in charge of arrangements.
