CLARA K. TAYLOR

GLEN COVE, N.Y. -- Clara Kornegay Taylor, 72, formerly of Pikeville, N.C., died suddenly Sunday at North Shore Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Sarah Harper Kornegay.
Funeral service will be held at a later date at First Bap-tist Church in Glen Cove, N.Y.
She atten-ded school at Pikeville Training School in Pikeville, N.C. She relocated to New York in 1956, where she met and married Arthur Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Tay-lor; a brother, Joseph Kor-negay; a son, Linwood Kor-negay; and a sister, Margaret Mosley, who died on Aug. 21, 2007.
She is survived by two daughters, Belinda Kornegay of Fremont, N.C., and Audrey Taylor of Smyrna, Ga.; one son, Arnold Taylor, of the home; one brother, James Kornegay of Jamaica, N.Y.; four sisters, Annie K. Mitchell of Bronx, N.Y., Mary K. Wester and husband, Charles, of Princeton, N.C., Shirley K. Sykes of Goldsboro, N.C., and Alma K. Sanders of Fremont, N.C.; eight grandchildren, including Jacovi Bonnie, whom she reared; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
