Addie Mae Strickland Pelt, 87, died peacefully on Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Pelt was born in Duplin County to the late Julius Strickland and Nora Blanchard Strickland. She was a graduate of Louisburg College and was married to the late A.G. Pelt Jr. Until her death, she was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she had served on the Altar Guild for many years. She was a member of the Evergreen Garden Club and past president of the Goldsboro Woman's Club.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530. The Rev. Dr. Homer Morris and the Rev. Thurman Horney will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Pelt is survived by her son, Julius Grey Pelt and wife, Sharon, of Raleigh; her granddaughter, Jennifer Grey Pelt of Charleston, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to sincerely thank "Elsie's Caregivers"; Lillian Weeks, her doctors and the seventh floor nursing staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and attention given to Mrs. Pelt over these last months.

Flowers are appreciated but memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 702 Chafin Road, Goldsboro.
