VIRGINIA H. BARWICK

PRICETOWN -- Virginia Hardy Rouse Barwick, 95, long-time resident of the Pricetown Community near Seven Springs, died early Sunday morning, Sept. 30, 2007.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Bud Jenness and the Rev. Mike Grady officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Cemetery.

Mrs. Barwick, known as "Dodger" to most, and as Granny "B" to her family and close friends, is survived by a daughter, Georgia Lee Rouse Grady "Mrs. Durham Grady" of the White Flash community near Mount Olive; three sons, Ed Rouse and wife, Lucille, of Shawnee, Kansas, Lonnie H. Rouse and wife, Nina, of Seven Springs, and Perry Barwick Jr. and wife, Bettye, of Carolina Beach; a brother, Harold Hardy and wife, Margaret, of Kinston; seven grandchildren, Pam Brewer and husband, Phil, Paul Grady Jr. and wife, Gale, Robert Rouse and wife, Deborah, Curtis Barwick and wife, Lori, Lisa Logan and husband, Jeff, Edward Rouse Jr., and Jennifer Rouse; and eight great-grandchildren, Meghan Brewer, Holly Grady, John Paul Grady, Bryant Rouse, Benjamin Rouse, Caroline Barwick, Greylon Barwick and James Lawrence.

She was the widow of Perry Barwick Sr. and was one of the nine children born to her late parents, Lonnie and Ellen Nunn Hardy. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Her family wishes to acknowledge the following who tenderly and lovingly cared for Mrs. Barwick: Cathy Langston, Betty Blizzard, Alex Barwick, Sandra Pizzino and Barbara Parks.

Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts may be sent to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Larry Williams, 360 Pineview Cemetery Road, Mount Olive, N.C. 28365, or to 3-HC, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times at the Lonnie H. Rouse residence, 4365 N.C. 55 East, Seven Springs.
