GRACE G. WILLIFORD

Mrs. Grace Gurley Williford, 76, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Grace was born in Johnston County on April 22, 1931, to the late W. Herman Gurley and Flossie Daughtry Gurley. For over 30 years, she worked in senior management at East Coast Federal Savings and Loan, now known as Branch Bank and Trust Company. Grace was an active and dedicated member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. She volunteered with the Salvation Army Auxiliary, where she served as treasurer. In addition to her family, her other interests included flowers and gardening.

Funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, with Dr. Talmage Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery in Princeton.

Grace is survived by her husband, Aaron Williford; her daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda W. and Cecil Davis Jr. of Raleigh and Terry W. and Raymond Groseclose of Asheboro; and her special grandsons, Austin Davis, Brett Davis, Jordan Groseclose and Graham Groseclose. She is also survived by her brothers, James Alton Gurley and Ralph Gurley; her sisters, Linda King and Ruth Matthews; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 S. Madison Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home.
