PIKEVILLE -- Kenneth Buren Ellis, 42, of 383 Nahunta Road, died Saturday at his home. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Buren Lee Ellis. He was employed as a mechanic with R. N. Rouse Co.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ellis; a son, Christopher Ken Ellis of the home; a daughter, Rachel Rudisill of Goldsboro; two step-daughters, Renee Evans of Garner, Michelle Evans of Pikeville; his mother and stepfather, Anne Sutton Epps and husband, James, of Snow Hill; his stepmother, Hilda E. Hawkins of LaGrange; and a sister, Dawn Michelle Ellis of Greenville, N.C.
Mr. Ellis will lie in state for viewing at Shumate-Faulk Faulk Funeral Home on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
