SHIRLEY F. RAIFORD

PRICETOWN -- Shirley Ann Faucette Raiford, 62, of 5147 N.C. Highway 111 S., Seven Springs, in the Pricetown community, died Saturday morning at her home.

Funeral will be held at 6 p.m. today at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with the Rev. Bud Jeness officiating. Following the service, the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence. Committal and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in Pineview Cemetery.

Mrs. Raiford is survived by her husband of 42 years, Johnny Raiford, of the home; two daughters, Dawn Raiford of Greenville, and Leigh Ann Raiford and her special friend, Andrew Odom, of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Amy Herring Raiford of the Pricetown community; three grandchildren, Jarret, Jordyn, and Justin Raiford, all of Pricetown; a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Carol Faucette of Mount Olive; and her personal assistant and a long-time friend of the Raiford family, Thelma Miles of Mount Olive.

The only daughter amongst four brothers, Shirley was born in Johnston County to the late Leroy and Ruby Edwards Faucette. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, and in past years, had been active in the Pricetown Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, and had served on the P.T.A. at Seven Springs Elementary School. This former teacher's assistant with the Wayne County Schools had, at one time, operated a beauty salon, and was a long-time employee of Wayne Memorial Hospital, retiring from the respiratory therapy dept.
